Devlog #1 — What if You could talk to the Visual Novel characters like they were alive?

Hi everyone!
I’m a solo developer (and data scientist by day) working on something a little unusual: an AI-native visual novel.
At first glance, my project looks like a classic VN — illustrated characters, branching choices, romance, intrigue. But here’s the twist: the characters are powered by a custom AI engine. They remember your choices, hold grudges, and evolve over time. They don’t just read lines — they feel alive.
The idea hit me while I was deep into Mystic Messenger. I loved the characters so much I wished I could talk to them more, beyond the script. Then I realized: with the AI tools I use every day, I could actually build that. That “aha!” moment grew into this project.
Right now I’m finishing the free prologue — a 20–30 minute, self-contained chapter that shows the art and story. This part is fully scripted (no AI yet) so I could prototype the engine and polish the world. After that, I’ll roll out the full AI layer where the real magic happens.
Follow this devlog if you’d like to see the journey unfold — I’ll be sharing art, behind-the-scenes peeks, and tech insights.
